Experience Plattsburgh, NY

     Nature:
Home
The area's natural splendor provides year-round enjoyment for people of all ages who want to explore our breathtaking surroundings.
Lake Champlain is every water lover's dream come true. The spectacular setting, gentle breezes and comfortable temperatures make it hard to resist sailing, boating or windsurfing these waters.
As deep as 400 feet in some places and home to over 60 species of fish, including salmon and bass, anglers cast their lines year-round into one of North America's greatest fishing locations.
And then there are the historical lighthouses, the un-crowded beaches, the lakeside restaurants, and the historical communities hugging its shoreline.
You can even watch for Champy — our legendary cousin of the Loch Ness monster.
The Adirondack Park is a six-million acre natural sanctuary of public and private land protected under the state constitution. The Park stands today as America's largest wilderness preserve outside of Alaska and one of the most successful conservation efforts in history. Winter, spring, summer, fall... something for all seasons.
