By Road:
     North & South - Plattsburgh is easily accessed from being adjacent to Interstate 87 which runs from the Canadian border to New York City. Route 9 is an older 2 lane highway that also runs north and south more along the lake. It's a scenic, but slow way to get here.

     West - Route 3 brings you in from the western areas of Lake Placid and from Malone/Watertown/ Massena region take Route 11 to Route 22 and then 22 brings you into Plattsburgh.

     East - Bordering Lake Champlain, Plattsburgh is accessible by bridges and ferry boats. Three ferries run from Vermont to NY. Only one, Grand Isle VT to Cumberland Head NY is open all year, the other two, Burlington, VT to Port Kent, NY and Charlotte VT to Essex, NY are only open from May to October. The cost ranges from $14. round-trip up. There are bridges, in the south at from Vergennes, Vt. to Crown Point, NY and in the north from Alburg VT. to Rouses Point, NY.

Rail:
     The NYC to Montreal Amtrak line runs directly into downtown Plattsburgh. Amtrak arrives in Plattsburgh from NYC to Montreal at approximately 1pm and heads to NY around 3pm. Check Amtrak for specific schedules.

Bus:
     Greyhound has a variety of lines running to Montreal, Albany and NYC on a daily basis. Check Greyhound for details.

Air:
     Plattsburgh has a small County Airport with connections to larger airports.  Visit the Plattsburgh International Airport website.
