City Police arrest arsonist

DATE OF RELEASE: July 26, 2017

TIME OF RELEASE:  12:00 pm

      After an intensive investigation the Plattsburgh Police Department has arrested Jimmy Williams, age 35 of Plattsburgh in connection with an arson spree on July 9th where Williams intentionally set fire to eight vehicles in the North end of the City.  Williams left Plattsburgh shortly after and returned to Kingwood TX where he was originally from.

      Williams was extradited from Texas and arraigned in Plattsburgh City Court on July 26th in front of the Honorable Mark Rogers where he was committed to Clinton County Jail on $50,000 cash/$100,000 bond.

      The Plattsburgh City Police Department received assistance from the Clinton County District Attorney's office, members of the National Insurance Crime Board, and Harris County officials in Houston Texas during this investigation.


Jimmy G. Williams, age 35, of Plattsburgh New York.

Charged with:

Eight (8) Courts of Arson in the 3rd degree: a Class “C” Felony
